MAG/FTA Ad Hoc Elderly and Persons with Disabilities Transportation Program Committee (Section 5310)

I attended a committee meeting on February 22, 2012. The meeting provided an overview of the 5310 program and application process. The grant evaluation sheet utilized by the review panel and the proposed application interview process were discussed. A disk of all 2012 applications was provided to all the members of the review panel.

Discretionary Grant Information

As part of the MAG regional 2012 discretionary grant process applications and supporting documents have been set to all jurisdictions with projects approved for this years grant programs. All participating agencies received copies of the application check list (excel), the February, 15 2012 Transit Operators Workshop Project Summary (pdf), FTA application, and supplemental form. MAG also issued a due date of March 8, 2012 to have all completed documentation submitted to them.

In addition to this information MAG will also be providing a city council template letter. Each participating agency will need to have their city manager sign the letter after being placed on agency’s letterhead. If the project is in the agency’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), they may choose to not have a signed letter of support. Each project requires CIP documentation or letter of support, both items are not needed. Multiple projects can be placed on one letter or have one letter per project.
